2026 Book Week Celebrations

Symphony of Stories

In 2026, our school embraced the “Symphony of Stories” theme for Book Week, celebrating the magic and harmony found in reading. Students, staff, and families joined together for a week filled with creative activities, literary adventures, and vibrant displays. The celebrations inspired a love of reading, encouraged the exploration of diverse voices, and fostered a sense of community. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make Book Week 2026 a memorable celebration of imagination, curiosity, and learning.

2026 Stage 3 Camp

Canberra

Our Stage 3 small schools excursion to Canberra was an unforgettable adventure packed with history, learning, and fun! Students explored iconic landmarks including The Australian War Memorial, Parliament House, the Australian Institute of Sport, and the National Museum of Australia, gaining rich insights into our nation's heritage, governance, and sporting excellence. The trip also included exciting hands-on experiences at Questacon, Australia’s premier science centre, and some lively fun at Zone Bowling. This immersive journey provided a perfect blend of education and enjoyment, creating lasting memories for all involved.

2026 NAIDOC Celebrations

50 Years of Deadly

The Wyndham PS students spent a day at Jigamy Farm, where immersing themselves in Aboriginal culture and language. They explored authentic artefacts, learned new words, danced, practiced throwing boomerangs and spears, and savoured tasting traditional Jonny cakes. It was a memorable experience that deepened the students and staff appreciation and understanding of Aboriginal heritage.

2026 Small School's Athletics Carnival

Wyndham Public School proudly participated in the Far South Coast Small Schools Athletics Carnival hosted by Towamba Public School. Our students showcased their athletic skills, sportsmanship, and team spirit while competing alongside other small schools from the region. It was a fantastic day full of fun, fitness, and friendly competition, highlighting the talent and enthusiasm of our young athletes.

2026 National Simultaneous Storytime

Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller

Wyndham Public School proudly joined the National Simultaneous Storytime event, bringing students together to enjoy a shared reading experience. This special day encouraged a love of reading and highlighted the joy of stories, as students across the country simultaneously listened to the same book. It was a fantastic opportunity to promote literacy and community spirit within our school.

World Bee Day

At Wyndham Public School, our students come together with a local Beekeeper to celebrate World Bee Day with fun and educational activities. Through hands-on projects and classroom discussions, they learned about the important role bees play in our environment and how we can help protect them. It was wonderful to see our community appreciate these tiny but mighty pollinators and their impact on our world.

GRIP Leadership Program

Our Year 6 students attend the GRIP Leadership Program conference in Canberra, where they have the opportunity to further develop their leadership skills. Throughout the conference, they participate in a range of engaging workshops and activities designed to inspire and empower young leaders. Collaborating with fellow Year 6 students from our region and the ACT, this experience helps them build confidence, teamwork, and essential leadership qualities that will benefit them both now and in the future. We are proud to support our students that take this important step in their leadership journey.

Anzac Day

In 2026, our school community joined with the Wyndham community to come together for the Anzac Day Ceremony. On April 25, we remembered and honoured the bravery and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women. It was a meaningful day of reflection, respect, and unity.

Easter Hat Parade

The Easter had Parade is an afternoon of fun, laughter and festive spirits, as families and friends come together to admire the fantastic designs.

2026 Small Schools Swimming

Our small school swimming carnival was a splash of fun and friendly competition! Students showed great enthusiasm and teamwork as they raced and cheered. It was a fantastic day celebrating effort, sportsmanship, and school spirit!

2025 School Play

Pantastic - The Peter Pan Musical

This year, our school performed Pantastic: The Peter Pan Musical. The students did a great job acting, singing, and making the story of Neverland come alive. It was a fun show that showed their hard work and creativity!

2025 Stage 3 Camp

Jindabyne

The Small Schools Stage 3 Camp to Jindabyne offers students an exciting opportunity to explore the great outdoors, build teamwork skills, and create lasting memories. Set in the stunning Snowy Mountains, the camp features engaging activities like hiking, kayaking, and environmental education, designed to inspire confident and foster a strong connection with nature. It's an unforgettable experience that brings our small school's community together!

Kitchen Garden Program

The Kitchen Garden Program teaches students how to grow, harvest and cook fresh, healthy food. It promotes hands-on learning, healthy eating habits, and environmental awareness, helping students connect with nature and build valuable life skills.

Water Bug Survey

The Bournda Water Bug Survey is a fun, hands-on activity where students explore local waterways to study water bugs and learn about freshwater ecosystems. This experience helps raise awareness of environmental health and the importance of protecting our natural habitats.

Ocean's Adventure is an exciting excursion to Merimbula where students explore the aquarium and discover the fascinating rock pools. this hands-on experience connects learners with marine life and coastal environments, inspiring curiosity and a deeper understanding of our oceans.

Two amazing performances in one night at the Bay Pavilions. This combined festival showcased the incredible talents of public school students across our region through dynamic dance, compelling drama and powerful storytelling.
